The history of this festival is pretty simple. Back in 1810, the local prince and princess got married, they organized a party and invited all the locals. The locals - Bavarians, enjoyed the party and drank a few beers to greet the bride and groom. They liked this celebration so much, that it was decided to get together the next year for a few more beers. And the party never stopped since then!
Just imagine the size of this celebration - 17 days of partying, 6.5 million liters of beer, millions of visitors. Munich's Beer Fest is a must-see event!
Each year, a huge park in the heart of Munich - the Theresenwiese transforms into the world's biggest party central. In the park you will find food stalls, amazing rides and side shows, as well as - Schnapps tents. The other part of the park holds more than 14 beerhalls. Like everything during the festival, the beerhalls and beer tents are enormous. Up to 100,000 people can be seated at Munich Beer Festival tables!
